sweet simplicity yoga retreat

23 - 26 august 2024

yoga - nature - relaxation

Please join me for three sweet days of yoga, connection and peace at a beautiful retreat centre in Balingup.

This is the perfect mini-break to reset your nervous system and recentre your spirit.

The city will feel worlds away when you are nestled amongst the beautiful native bushland as the Spring wildflowers start to bloom.

Connection is always a theme of my retreats - the timetable and activities will support you to connect with both yourself and others in an authentic and loving way.

During our Retreat you’ll experience:

3 days and 3 nights of activities and relaxation, at a stunning property just under 3 hours from Perth. There’ll be a beautiful balance of both yin and yang activities, as well as plenty of rest time.

Our schedule includes daily yoga classes to help you to connect with your body and calm your mind. Morning classes will be more energetic, helping you to wake up and get the prana (energy) moving. Evening classes will be chilled, helping you to soften towards sweet slumber.

On one day we will take a bushwalk to an extra special nature location, enjoying our practice under an exceptionally beautiful old oak tree.

3 nights of basic, but comfortable accommodation nestled amongst stunning native bush. Over its 40+ years of operation, the Origins Centre has developed a distinctly peaceful energy, conducive to self-reflection and growth.

Sustainability is central to the ethos of this rustic and beautiful retreat centre. You’ll have access to water-wise composting toilets, a shared bathroom and a lovely cozy lounge area with wood stove.

Most of the rooms at the centre contain two single beds. There are also a limited number of queen rooms available for booking. Please note that you will also be required to bring your own bedding/linen to the retreat.

The centre contains several wood fires, allowing us to stay warm and snug during our practice and group activities.

Embodied Connection Workshop: embark on a journey of somatic and energetic connection with yourself and others. You’ll be guided through a series of interactive and enlivening activities combining movement, mindfulness, touch and sound. We’ll establish a safe space to explore and feel, first helping you to centre within yourself before intentionally engaging with others from this centred and empowered space.

Embodied connection is playful, reflective and expressive. Come with an open mind and you’re sure to leave with an open heart, feeling connected and alive.

Our spacious retreat experience includes quiet time for self-reflection and plenty of afternoon down-time, giving you a chance to balance out the busyness and stress of city life with some time to simply be.

In the afternoons you may wish to visit the Balingup Medieval Festival happening the same weekend, or simply curl up with your book or journal in front of the fire.

Flavoursome food made with love: Nourish your body from the inside out with delicious dinners catered by famous Freo chef, Nimrod Kazoom. Nimrod’s colourful food will be sure to delight your taste buds and warm your heart!

Sauna: De-stress and detox both body and mind with our wood-fired sauna tent experience. My wonderful friend Kip Cameron from Natural Perspectives has kindly offered us the use of his innovative sauna tent during the retreat. It fits approx. 7 people and it’s incredible effective!

Bushwalking: Ground yourself by taking a walk along the beautiful Bibbulmun Track, which runs alongside the boundary of our retreat centre. As a group we will enjoy a walk along the track to a special location for yoga on one day of the retreat.

You’re also welcome to explore the track and delight in the stunning wildflowers in your own time.

Meet your host - Frieda

Hey there, I’m Frieda, your yoga teacher and retreat facilitator.

I am super passionate about helping people just like you live happier, healthier lives through mindful and intelligent movement, evidence-based self development practices and spending quality time in nature. 💚🌿

My classes are beginner-friendly, encouraging curious, safe and explorative movement and stretches.

I haven’t always been a yoga and pilates teacher - my background is corporate law and commercial contract management. I get how busy and stressful life can be! I know just how hard it can be to find the time for self-care, let alone to organise what that looks like. That’s why I LOVE to share amazing experiences which help people in the same boat. My aim is to facilitate experiences where you can simply turn up and go with the flow - let me take care of the details so you don’t have to!

I would love to support you in your wellbeing journey during our beautiful retreat weekend. 😊⭐️

Corporate Yoga & Pilates

With my own corporate background, as well as my experience as a yoga, pilates and meditation instructor, I can tailor a wellbeing program specifically for your team’s needs. It can be more of an exercise class, focused on intelligent movement and mobility techniques to balance out the impacts of long-periods of sitting. Or, we can focus on mindfulness and relaxation techniques to calm the mind and improve mental health. Or, why not combine both? Let’s discuss what your team needs most.

Until 2022 I worked as a lawyer and commercial contract manager, as well as teaching yoga and pilates on the side. After over a decade working in an office environment I fully understand the demands that corporate life has on both the body and mind. Now, I use this understanding, as well as a range of evidence-based movement and mindfulness techniques, to create relatable classes that improve employees’ physical and mental health. Wellness classes are a great way to demonstrate that your company genuinely cares about its employees and can result in increased employee engagement, retention and productivity.

I can happily incorporate pilates, vinyasa, hatha and yin yoga styles, as well as myofascial release techniques, meditation, positive psychology and self-development exercises into a corporate program, according to your team’s needs and preferences.

Feel free to touch base and I will happily answer any questions you might have.
